GUA ( Pronounced GWAR) means to scrape and SHA ( Pronounced SHAR) is the red rash that can appear on the surface of the skin. I use different tools to do this, either crystals or a Chinese spoon and use a scraping technique.
Have you heard of "Qi" (Chee)?
Sometimes you will hear this described as energy in the English Language. Think of your blood free flowing around your body just like the rivers and streams of Mother Nature - they both flow into the tiniest of spaces and have such a important job.
If the flow of blood is weak, it can accumulate just like the lack of movement with water - the water stagnates and clogs up, just like our blood. This stagnation in our body can build up and cause discomfort and pain.
Using Gua Sha near the area of pain will release the local area of stagnation and improve the blood flow and "Qi".
I Completed my first course in Gua Sha in 2019 but rarely used the technique in my treatments.
Fast forward to October 2022, I was about to go on holiday but I'd been experiencing excruciating pain in my neck and head. I had my blood pressure checked by my doctor and all was normal, What could I do about this pain ? I went for a treatment with one of my regular therapists who specialises in Gua Sha and WOW My back ended up full of SHA ( Which needed to be released) The picture isn't for the faint hearted - you can find it on my Instagram if you'd like to take a look. Within 24 hours I was pain free.
I have since completed an advanced course and now add it to my treatments or you can choose a GUA SHA upper body treatment on it's own. Or why not try my Natural Facial Massage with Gua Sha ..... The choice is yours but so worth a try
